I have a prontopro with RF extender and it works fine with my setup.
I have the RF extender on a bookshelf behind the couch aimed at the stereo rack about 8 feet away and don't use any of the IR blaster connections.
Works like a dream - 100% reliable. The RF also is completely reliable, working from 2 flights upstairs.
