switching codesets is a two-stage process, receiver &
remote.

You were supposed to enter the menu of the receiver,
steps 1-4 were to direct you through the menu, the remote
was already supposed to have been programmed with code
00003. steps 1-4 were to get the receiver to recognize
code 00003.

Edmund, I was able to go back and program the reciever to 00003 and then I followed the rest of the prompts. I've almost got my remote just the way I want it, but there are some situations where my JVC TV is on and if I switch from the already on HR-20 to the HR20 with a discrete ON command for the HR20, then I have no problem. But if I turn on the HR20 first the discrete ON command does not turn my TV ON. This is not a big issue as I usually turn on my HR-20 first anyway. But I'm trying to make it bullet proof for my wife.
