You bring up an interesting point, Edmund. In the (very)
old days of DirecTV I had a Sony SAT-A4 receiver that
would work with RF. It's problem was that if your neighbor
had one you could both be controlling each other's receivers.
It (RF) proved to be worthless because in fact my neighbor
had the same receiver.
The Sonys could be set to any one of sixteen RF codes. As I went around setting them up, I realized this, only because I went from place to place doing it, and just set each next customer's unit to the next number, and never set one to 1 again. The RF then wasn't worthless. Oddly, it was much slower than IR, though.
So is RF control of the HR20 and H20 linked to one specific
receiver and incapable of even accidentally controlling
another receiver nearby? How (in simple terms) are they
doing that? My curious mind wants to know.
My simple answer is that they're not, or at least I'll bet not.
