Thank you all for your support and prayers. I almost lost a close friend in this tragedy. He used to work right next door to the twin towers but just recently started up his own company.
This is so all amazing to me - very disheartning. Though I am very fortunate to still have my friends and family with me I know there are many who cannot say the same. I was driving on the freeway listenting to the radio when I heard about the woman who called her husband on the phone and the man who called his dad... I had to pull off to the side of the road. I couldnot imagine calling up a loved one knowing that this would probably be the last time that you would talk to them. What would you say? I made about 15 phone calls from the side of that road! Parents, boyfriend, siblings, random friends - telling them all that I loved them.
It is sad that it often takes a tragdey to bring people together - but I know it strenghtened many perosnal relationships as well as our nation. One last exapmple before I shut up :)
On the 11th I went to go donate blood. In downtown San Diego there were over 900 people lined up, in the cold, waiting for hours to donate blood! :) There were so many people that they turned me, as well as many other away. They told me to make an appointment and the soonest date they had available was a month away! Talk about bringing people together. I was so happily amazed - and I'm sure anyone else who's been hurt by this horrible action will be as well. :)
