I always seem to be defending the Republicans, which is
not my intent. I just want to get the facts straight.

This is a very complex issue, but basically American drug
companies are the ones that do all the R&D for new drugs.
They charge more for these to offset the cost of R&D.
Canada and other countries pick them up once they become
generic. Drug companies do not arbitrarily charge what
ever they want for drugs. They are in fierce competition
with each other. Other contributors to high health care
stem from insurance abuses and care for uninsured people
among other things. If your theoretical hybrid candidate
has a better plan I would be glad to here it.

Just like you do if you get a big contract for 200 homes. You go to the rep and say hey dealer cost is NOT going to work for me. I need something better. 9 times out of ten he comes back with another 5 to 10% off.

I am not saying the drug companies should not make a fair profit. But I think it is silly if you are going to be buying in bulk why make the rules say you can NOT talk for a better price? That is my gripe with the rules.

So, what's the ideal solution?

I don't know about this, but why is every Republican
initiative considered to be a complete failure if it's
not 100% perfect? Which when it comes to education is
impossible. Once again, if there's a better plan, I'd
like to hear.

A better plan would be competition. How about in place of me paying 300 a month to put my little girl in private school they give me the money. Public schools are lax cause they know that people have to pay out of there own pocket to put their kids in private school. A little competition goes a LONG way.

What would the governator do?

BTW Thanks to you guys that posted the funny links. It's
always good to keep it in perspective.

For the most part I sing the GOP line. There is a lot more stuff that I agree with on that side of the isle than the other. BUT..... as things is my life change, and OTHER facters come into play I have to deal with other issues. (Health Care being one of the main issues.) Funny how when you are in your twenties health care is not even close to being on your mind. a decade, and 2 kids later you tend to start to think about some of these things. Like the 2500 bill I got from the hospital and I HAVE health insurance! Wait a minute I have 2 different health insurance policies. Blue Cross from my wife and her work, and Tri-Care from the military. Why am I paying this bill??????

I can only imagine what this is going to cost me when I get out of the military.

I must say that this is a cool thread where people are able to say the stuff that we say and are nice about it. Pretty cool cats every one of you all.
