I am not having luck getting the RS-232 to work with the HD-XA1. Do I need to input the Hex serial code in a different way?

I'm using a T3, w/RP-6 and CM-232 w/Null Modem Adapter and Female/Female Coupler.

The command shown below is for PLAY.
