Thanks for the reply. I called tech-support & found the answer to my problem. Had to turn the Punch thru feature off for the VCR button. Once turned off it accepted the preprogrammed codes for my VCR.

I guess it comes out of the box with this feature turned on?

At any rate, all is well & I'm very happy with the remote.
