I was wondering if that might be the answer...

Does the new button on your MX-1000 toggle through all the various Kenwood inputs or just the video inputs? As the 1080/1090 has separate access to the two sets of inputs through the remote, I would hate to have to scroll through all 7 inputs to get back to the input I want.

I will give your suggestion a try and let you know if it works.
