I just had the multiroom audio system installed with this "new" control system called Alexis by ACX(Automated Control System). It seems the guys from ACX has been around for a while and they used to be integrators. My whole audio distribution system is accessed and controlled via a browser. I have a couple of tablet PCs and I prefer firefox browser. I need no additional software on any of my PCs and it is available on any PC on my network. The system is 100% bidirectional which give me all the feedback I need. They guys from ACX has done all the work in choosing the right components and applied their expertise to create the GUI applications that I have never seen before. My wife was initially intimidated by it but after using for a day or two, she now loves it and hooked on it more than I am.

Their new products for home control will control the whole house via a browser. All the work is done by these guys - as they call it "connect and play". You must check it out.
