update - The remote does have a setup button on it. By holding this down I do get the light to stay on. I don't know however whether I should be pressing the component before or after getting the light to stay on.

I've been trying this & did randomly manage to get the channel to change, however I can't seem to get this to happen on a routine basis.

Soooo, I'm getting closer & hopefully the setup button seems to be the key. Anyone have ideas on exactly how I should be doing this??
