I haven't seen both side to side, but for all practical purposes they would appear to be the same unit. Actually, the backlight isn't your typical LCD backlight color, but is actually a blue-green color that is more blue than green.

However, it's not quite as bright blue as the Sony remote, if you've had the opportunity to see one of those.
