That's why we implemented it this way...

In fact, the timer starts as soon as the touch screen or back light button is released. To keep the screen on for a longer period of time you can either keep your finger on the touch screen or keep pressing the back light button. By the way, the back light button will switch on the display _and_ the back light no matter what the current lighting conditions are. Touching the screen will only switch on the back light if the Pronto measures a light level lower than the level defined by the user.
