I have CCP installed with Windows 11 Pro and have no problems with the USB. If you have an MX-5000, they have the button Install MDC that you need for ActiveSync. I downloaded it the hard way and then found a page that explained the button in CCP. I've been able to download to the MX-890, MX-990, MX-5000, the iOS app with MRX-2, as well as the Android MRX-2 app. As I had the legacy app in both my Google and Apple accounts, they're still available. I emailed URC about it disappearing and they confirmed it had been discontinued but I'd still have the app since it was already tied to my account.
