TC is one of the reasons I could see CC going away eventually.
Since they made the horrible choice to dealer restrict everything about CC, the line has been going flat. Everywhere you look online, CC gets bad reviews. And it isn't because of the hardware, that is solid. URC just seems to want to choke it to death with the restrictions and non-development.
It's really surprising to me they even bothered to come out with the MX1400 & MX4000. And I'm sure a URC rep would point to those 2 remotes as proof they are not abandoning the CC line. But it just doesn't make sense when you look at the totality of the line.
TC is only a few bucks more with tons more features and product choices. CC just doesn't make much sense these days for dealers or consumers (unless they can get a hold of working software). It just isn't competitive and that's even with themselves.
In this current economy, lots of people refuse to be "forced" into a more expensive control system. I've only sold a couple of URC products over this last year. I expect that will dwindle to nothing next year, looking at the trends.
I just don't understand URC's business choices they have been making over the last few decades.
The only people doing well with URC, are the dealers that are doing full TC systems for customers with disposable incomes. That's becoming a more niche market. I suppose those dealers don't even notice. And I guess URC is doing well enough with that, that they really don't care either - I mean obviously they don't.
