A little update, after having 3 techs out here. First one for some stupid reason moved the coax from a grounding block that was grounded to one that wasn't. I wasn't home for that visit.
The second fixed the first one's screw up and also replaced my RG59 from the grounding block to the outlet inside.
The third one had tested both of my purchased modems and they both still got 24Mbps upload. We temporarily attached a rental and activated it on my account. It immediately went to 100Mbps.
So I at least know that my account and the area are able to work with 100Mbps plus upload.
After some investigation and a couple after he left. I discovered something... There are only 5, that's right FIVE modems that are approved to work on xFinity at those speeds. And of course neither my two are on that list.
You can find the list here,
[Link: assets.xfinity.com]Incase it changes in the future. You can also look up "Next Gen Speed Tier" on Xfinity's website for the list. On that same PDF are other modems that will still work, and my two modems that I have. SB8200 and CM1000 are on That list. But as you can see, there are no "upload speeds". So I don't know how they determine the speeds.
I did order the Hitron CODA56 and will update here once I activate it.
