I've been happily using my Pronto Pep 2 (version 2.4.23.0) for many years. The last time I installed Pronto Pep 2 was early 2019 in my Windows 10 Home laptop.

I was thinking of upgrading my Windows 10 Home laptop to Windows 11, but I didn't want to risk getting potential problems (such as upsetting my Pronto software). I am getting a new Windows 11 Home laptop. So, for now, I'll leave my Windows 10 laptop alone. Instead, I'll install Pronto Pep 2.4.23.0 in the new Windows 11 laptop. Is there anything I need to know ahead of time? I suspect Pep install should be similar in Windows 11 as in Windows 10?

Seems that Windows 11 has .NET Framework 3.5 already installed by default (need to check in the "Turn Windows features on or off" dialog box that ".NET Framework 3.5" shows up, and if needed, click the entry to turn it on)

Below are excerpt of my notes that I posted when I installed Pep 2 in Windows 10 (I left out steps 1 and 2 from my old notes). Any reason why it should be any different in Windows 11?

==== Old notes for installing Pep 2.4.23.0 in Windows 10 ======

3. Install .NET Framework 3.5. It may be best to do this first. Otherwise, the
PEP setup will fail and Windows will popup a dialog box saying you need
.NET).
4. Run PEP setup.
5. PEP setup will run and seem to be stuck and never finish. If so,
you need to stop the Windows ProntoDataService service (found this on another thread). This was a bit of a pain for me to stop since I was running the PEP setup as a Standard User instead of an Administrator, and the Windows services window doesn't have a way to stop as an administrator. So, I did the following:

To stop the ProntoDataService, start Task Manager as an Administrator by typing "Task Manager" in the Windows bottom-left search window. When you see the Task Manager in the menu, right-click and select "Run as administrator".
Then, look for ProntoDataService and stop it.

6. The stuck PEP setup will continue to run and then finish. The ProntoDataService will restart automatically.

7. While PEP is not running, I transferred some files from my old Mac to the new one. Make sure your Explorer setup is configured to show hidden files. I transferred these files:

C:\ProgramData\Philips\ProntoEdit Professional 2\ProntoScripts\*
C:\ProgramData\Philips\ProntoEdit Professional 2\Libraries\*
C:\ProgramData\Philips\Common Database\componentdatabase.db (this probably wasn't necessary since I think PEP will load the components in your XCF file to the database when you first open it; but, I did this anyway ahead of
time just in case).... There is also a backup/restore functionality for the database which I didn't try.
C:\Users\\Documents\Pronto Projects\* (this contained my XCF files)

Since I never customized the Gallery, I didn't bother transferring C:\ProgramData\Philips\ProntoEdit Professional 2\ProntoScripts\Gallery
