I've noticed that the Pronto doesn't like connecting to networks that are hidden, otherwise, at least with that Meraki access point, it seemed to be realatively tolerant regarding the various performance or security options, as long as b/g compatibility was enabled. Since that's only needed on 2.4GHz, the performance impact may be neglegible.
