Hi Folks,

Anyone have any advice on this? I have several new-in-box Q50's which I hoped would get me through several years. Decided to put a new one in play today and it will not update to the new firmware. I tried it on my Win 10 box which is working well for updating and saving to the remote. Also tried on two other Win 7 boxes and it just seems to fail to go to the newer firmware and then appears to brick the unit. Tried two new units today, same outcome.

There are times before the attempt at the firmware update that NSP sees the unit Mac address in NSP but once I attempt the firmware update it never finishes and sort-of bricks the unit.

I read somewhere that maybe the MS Mobile Device Center is the problem? Possibly it needs updates after Windows updates kills it? Is it simply that the firmware update cannot work any longer due to closed software and servers from UEI or is the firmware update built into NSP and resides on my local system? There is only one old firmware update which is needed.

Older units I have with the newer firmware can be updated and saved and work fine, even on my Win 10 box.

Are there newer version(s) of Windows Mobile Device Center which need to be installed to make this work?

I'm rather unhappy with all of this new-in-box Q50 inventory which I cannot update the firmware and will therefore no longer work.

Looking for any help you all might offer.

Thx Dave
