Just to get it out of the way - yes I know about the power saving mode and having to disable it using RSPW1 (I've seen the threads and the griping about people not searching/reading)

Backstory:
The IR receiver on my 65" Sharp Elite went out leaving me with no remote control of the TV. I have built an IR to RS232 bridge using a Raspberry Pi Zero to regain the functionality since the part can't be ordered anymore.

I have been able to get everything working except turning on the TV using the OEM remote which only has a Power Toggle button. Everything works fine when I use the discretes that are in my Harmony (i.e. I can turn it on and off). Interestingly, if I use the Power Toggle button while the TV is on, it will turn off. After every power related command (toggle, on, or off), I send the RSPW1 command as well to make sure it is always set.

Commands I am using:
Discrete On - POWR1
Discrete Off - POWR0
Power Toggle - RCKY12

As far as I know there isn't a way to poll the current state of power in order to send the right discrete command when the Power Toggle button is hit.

Has anyone been able to use the Power Toggle feature over RS232 for this Sharp or any other? I'd rather not implement a dumb toggle in SW which might require up to two button clicks of the power toggle button to make it work.

And yes, since I have a Harmony with discretes, I can probably live without a fix, however, I know there are others who have lost IR functionality on this set who might be interested and don't have a Harmony or another remote with discrete codes.
