A different question. With remotes that have pickup sensors like the MX890, do you turn off the sensor when programming for systems on boats? I would think the constant roll of the boat would make the batteries die quickly.

I've only had one customer ever ask me to disable the pickup sensor, and that was because he didn't like the remote lighting up at night when he bumped it in bed.

Most people like the pickup sensor, and if the boat is just sitting at the dock, they don't light up when sitting on the charger or on a countertop.  I would imagine that when the boat is underway that the light sensor turns on often, but I haven't had any complaints on battery life.
