I have a client that want's to swap out all the QM system installed in their class rooms and bring in some DM gear.

This client told me that crestron said that the QM cable can pass the 8G.

This way, all we need to do is unplug the RJ45 out of the QM and plug it in the DM units.

I'm worried that it would not work just because the 8G cable is High-bandwidth/low-crosstalk shielded 4-twisted pair and the QM cable is Low-skew CAT5e.

What are your thoughts on this.

TIA.

We have tested with both Cat5e and Cat6 without any problems. Although 8G would be ideal we haven't seen any problems using regular Cat5e/6
You can't fix stupid
