Are you getting real feedback from the EX-Link interface? What module are you using?
We've been using RS-232 with Samsungs for a while, but my understanding (based on past threads here, and posts in the Yahoo Crestron group) is that the Samsung EX-Link may spit out an occasional "Ack" or similar but does not return power status or input. Unlike LG / Sharp / Panasonic, I've never seen a list of commands to query the TV.
(Have always used one of the Crestron module (UN55ES8000); it has signals for feedback, but I've never seen them working.)
