No, and no.
Also, is there a way to look at an mxf file and know what brands of gear are being controlled?
Sometimes. And by that I mean you are supposed to be able to do that but it doesn't always work, especially if its someone else's file.
IF it's going to work open up your file and goto Program : Database : Device drop down. Choose the named device and if it works it will auto populate the info for IR Data From, Brand, Model and Codeset. If not...well, you're out of luck.
