Don't know about AMX but you can't with Crestron. If you can't get the originals from the contractor you're starting from scratch. If it's possible I wouldn't see a reason for them NOT giving you the files if you could just download them yourself. Good luck!
That's a good point. Maybe they just didn't think we'd be able to figure it out. This type of programming does seem extremely difficult. Thanks!
