Add a .5 ( or .3) sec delay in between each "IR" step in the macro. This is a known bug in CCP or the MRF.
Is this specific to the 980? I don't work with it all that much to be honest, but work with the 780, 880, and 900 a LOT and have never had an issue. In fact, without any delays all three of those remotes work perfectly everytime.
