Funny you should mention the PS3 interface and the 890 remote. I tried this approach with 2 ultimately non functional Logitech 890's. So, at least you got your remotes to work for a time! My first cost $399 (they did give me the replacement for free) then the second one died the very same death as the first one. Logitech told me I was now on my owns and refused to support the 890 any more.
Now I've still got a PS3 interface but nothing to control it right now. Sony makes a blue tooth remote for the PS3 but waht damn good is it if it can't control the rest of the equipment in the rack? Stupid beyond belief but typical Sony arrogance.
