The big difference is that the processors are significantly less. In my experience the system requirements rarely involve a two way handheld. Ipad, iphone, sure. At that point there is plenty of room in the budget for a decent 433 remote if a handheld is needed. We were using prodigy for multiroom so the handheld isn't always necessary. With the AD4 and 8 RTI is a pretty natural choice.
