I went to Crestrons "Next Generation of control and Touch Panel" information class this morning. Very interesting stuff coming out.
1) The new programming software will be called, if I remember correctly "Crestron Design Studio" and have all the software compiled into one program with tabs. The main programming environment looks like it will be a version of SB with easy capability of opening anything up in SIMPL for more elaborate changes to modules, features etc. The were talking about the simplicity of being able to go back and forth easily without issue and SB will no longer build a million buffers and Interlocks. They showed some screen shoots and it looks really slick. Everything will be backwards compatible.
2) There will be a new version of SIMPL+ that will be called SIMPL#. Doesn't sound like it will be open to every one though.
3) There will be a beta version available to the chosen once around Dec-Jan with a official release in the summer.
4)The XP Processor is no more. The other Prodigy stuff will be compatible with the regular line Crestron gear just like anything else from the full line. The Prodigy universe will schrink. Doesen't sound like the 6x4 or the 6x6 DM will ever make it to the Prodigy side.
5) The CP3 is coming out in the spring.
6) They are changing the TPS-6X and 6L to TPMC-6X and 6L. All new panels will support IP intercoming.
