It's a well known problem with the SL's. I call it runaway. UEI has never been able to fix it, and eventually quit trying. The only fix I could come up with was to program the hard buttons using macros and put the code inside the macro. That way it will only be sent one time. It's a bit annoying, especially on the volume because you have to hit the button to move your amp/avr/tv volume one increment. But at least it doesn't deafen you by running away and maxing out your sound level.
