I have talked to three different people at Crestron all telling me the same
thing.

How much that means, depends on who the "three different people" were. All support techs (in any company) are not created equally :-)

Do you take the word of someone who sits at a desk answering phones, or someone who's out in the field makin' stuff work? :-)

I still don't think you've read the threads on the Yahoo Group, or posted this question there. There have been many discussions (and answers) about this very issue.

From my conversation with tech support today (who called me back with
more information) the "norm" for all security system being controlled by
Crestron is for the security system to have its own processor.

That is simply not true, and IMO is an "easy out" for the guy to get off the phone and take the next call.

I've done a few systems with A/V, Lighting, HVAC, Weather, all sorts of other stuff, *AND* a GE security system, all on one processor - and it works well. I've also done hundreds of other systems using different alarm panels on a single processor - also working well.

Now, *IDEALLY*, a large system (lots of A/V zones, touchpanels, lighting, HVAC, or other "processor-intensive" stuff) will benefit from one or more additional processors, but it is *NOT* a requirement.
