When looking for a job you'll be more productive if you keep in mind the purpose of a resume. It is to get you the interview and should be written with that goal in mind. If you're applying for a advertised position include a cover letter introducing yourself and the skills you have that make you a perfect fit for the position. There is no rule that states you cannot rewrite your resume for each application.
The interview is where you sell yourself and get the job.
