I have/had a Nevo Q50 and it only lasted about 20 months before the buttons went out on it. I wouldn't recommend one to anyone.

I have programmed a fair few (over 20) Q50's for customers and haven't had any failures yet. Like any product you can get unlucky!

Looking hard at the Nevo Q50. Hows the GUI?

The Q50 has a 12bit (4K) colour screen compared to the S70 which has 16bit (65K). Nevo have a lot of options for graphics and with themes. I suggest you take a look at one.

Personally I think the Q50 is a great remote and great value for money. Nevo Studio Pro 3.0 software is excellent. I suggest you get a Nevo Connect as well if you can afford it.

NevoStudio Pro 3.0 includes:

  • .Nevo Plug-ins
    • 2-way plug-ins are available for Sonos, Kaleidescape, iPort, Imerge, and more
    • Intuitive wizard driven interface allows for easy customization of parameters
  • Nevo Widgets
    • 2-way scripting without writing scripts
    • Drag and drop, building block style workspace to create widgets that can send commands and receive feedback
    • Can be as simple as a visual volume level indicator for an AV receiver or more advanced like for a whole home security interface
    • Files can be easily exported and shared
  • Scheduled macros
    • Execute macros at time intervals automatically
    • Daily, weekly, monthly, annually, or at system startup
  • Windows 7, XP, and Vista compatible (32 and 64-bit versions)
  • And many more features
    • Global Flags
    • IP device support (S70 only)
    • Animated GIF support
    • Any background image automatically resized
    • Nevo Personal library
    • Support for complex macros
    • Easy copying of global macros between projects

Cheers
Jason
