many thanks indeed. sounds like my best bet then is to go for something universal - I'm thinking the Logitech Harmony One looks nice (and try to get a price on it on ebay), then I can get the set-up functions via the code and control everything. Many thanks - I just did't want to keep spending money and not be able to control the amp set up. I really appreciate all your help,
