I am installing a 24 inch TV (made by Sceptre because its the only silver tv available these days) in the corner of my kitchen. I have 2 coaxials and a cat 5 from the point of where the tv which run to the basement. I plan on setting up the cable box/dvr in the basement and not put any other component.
So my options, as I understand them are (1) set up a cat 5 IR repeater and just use any IR remote, perhaps the one that comes with the cable box or (2) set up an RF remote, something simple maybe like the RF20?
All I need to do is turn on/off the tv and control the cale/dvr box that will be in the basement. What's the better way to go?
Also note that I already use extensively programmed RTI remotes in various other places in the home that use RF. Not sure if using another RF system will interfere with the RTI or vice versa.
