For: Philips ProntoPro NG By: Patrick ORourke | Patrick's Windows XP Style A user friendly color design that looks like Windows XP. The "desktop" contains macro shortcuts and the Start Menu provides direct access to individual component controls. The component controls open in their own windows. The windows can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner or by launching the Start Menu. Start Menu can be closed by selecting a component, clicking anywhere on the desktop or clicking the Start Menu button again. I borrowed from many sources. |

For: Philips Pronto NG By: Tony Prince | Tony Prince's Clear PCF Button/text legibility was the key criteria in the design of this PCF, which was based on my previous RC5200 CCF. Another vital design criteria was the ability to alter most amp/monitor/lighting settings from within each device. Discrete codes are used throughout, as are macros to automate processes. UK folk with the SKY+ DSS/PVR may find the design/channel logos of interest. To summarise: spouse & eyesight friendly, high functionality, low in sex appeal. |

For: Philips ProntoPro NG By: Jens Roever | Contest Entry #07: The Works The result of my design: 134 custom-made buttons (not counting spacers & labels)! My favorite button is the volume toggle in the lower right page. Here's what's unique about my configuration:Consistent frame-based GUI with three button groups in frame: TOP: device selection with trinary button states - pressing a pressed button in the main page of a device executes a setup macro with auto-power-on, etc. LEFT: device specific buttons, e.g. TiVo: Favorites, Thumbs Up/Down, Slo-Mo BOTTOM: “orthogonal” (e.g. X-10 & Amplifier are always needed independent media devices), or common functions (Keypad)Modifier buttons, when pressed once, lead to an extra screen – when pressed again they lead back to same deviceEye pleasing “soft” design with fairly correct lighting (shadows, etc.) and well balanced colorsSimplicity – one page operation with most common functionsNo confusing clutter (I put in time, date & battery for completeness only... I actually prefer it without those items, but it's easier to erase them than to integrate them later)The activity signal is still visible, though barely taking up any space nowBackground is defined on the System... Rotel Receiver RSX-1056 (Remote model RR-1050) For: Philips Pronto NG By: Eduardo Rossi | Part of a complete system PCF file. |

For: Philips Pronto NG By: Eduardo Rossi | Rossi's Remote This is nothing more than Adam Bursey's design (posted here), adapted to my devices, and simplified a bit for my wife to play with it. It's a very functional and easy to use setup, divided by ACTIVITY and not by component. TV, for example will have controls for TV, Receiver and cable box. It has a simple screen for every activity and then all the other controls used less often in separate menus. There is some use of macros. Enjoy and feel free to tweak it around and post your version here. |
