Philips ProntoPro NG TSU7000 New Philips ProntoPro NG TSU7000 & Marantz RC9500 review!
It’s probably the most familiar name in graphical touchscreen remote controls: the Philips Pronto. Originally released in 1998, the first Pronto was a breakthrough in raw capacity and customizability. Since then, Philips has massaged the Pronto into different forms, adding more memory, a color screen, additional buttons and RF capabilities.

Eventually a completely refreshed version was needed: the Pronto NG TSU3000. We reviewed the TSU3000 some time ago, a black-and-white remote that greatly improved upon the first Pronto’s specifications and capabilities. But of course, folks still want color, and Philips has just the thing: the ProntoPro NG TSU7000. Or, for Marantz fans, there’s the RC9500, a remote based on the ProntoPro NG platform but with slightly different capabilities and a unique high-end look.

Marantz RC9500 As the car sale ads say, “it’s the big one!” I’m very pleased today to present our complete review of the Philips ProntoPro NG TSU7000 and Marantz RC9500 computer programmable color touchscreen universal remote controls (whew!). In fact, this is our most comprehensive review yet – and that’s saying something! As usual it’s jam packed with photographs, screenshots and enough juicy details to even call it a ProntoPro NG crash course. If you’re at all interested in color touchscreen remotes you’ll want to check this out!
