One For All Kameleon 8 URC-9960 One For All Kameleon 8 Reviewed!
Take just one look at the remote on the right and you’ll see that there’s something’s a little different about it. There are no hard buttons. No LCD touchscreen display. And yet give it a shake and it illuminates brightly in the dark. Some time ago, we took a look at the Radio Shack 15-2113, the first remote control in North America to implement Universal Electronic Inc.’s special Kameleon technology.

Today, we take a look at the second generation One For All Kameleon 8 URC-9960. As a remote, the URC-9960 offers control of 8 devices, a great preprogrammed database, code learning, macros, “Home Theater” mode, phone upgradeability, favorite channel scan and a whole lot more. The URC-9960 even makes several improvements upon the first-generation Radio Shack 15-2113: there’s a new case design with a cast aluminum top, different color Kameleon panel, more devices, additional buttons and easier setup.

On paper, the Kameleon 8 seems well worth its $99 price tag. But is there more to the remote than undeniably cool looks? Does it have enough power under that flashy touch panel to effectively take control of 8 varied devices? Has the remote configuration process really been improved? And just what is this whole “Kameleon” thing?

Answers to those and other nagging questions can be found by reading our in-depth review!
