New Forum Features
As some of you may have noticed, over the past few weeks several new features have popped up in the message forums. First and foremost is a brand new Favorites section. It's now possible to add up to 60 favorite or important threads, from any of our forums, to a special personalized list. When viewed on the special page you'll get enhanced thread-specific information, such as how many posts you’ve made, when your last post was, how many replies have been made since you last post, total number of views and more. Be sure to check it out – look for the “Add to Favorites” link near the bottom of each thread!

Other new features include the ability to find recent posts by a particular author (located on the author’s “Profile” page), improved index and page linking, quick-copy links next to each message, plus several other behind-the-scenes changes. Remember, many of Remote Central’s current forum features have been implemented due to specific user requests – if you want to see something in particular, be sure to let us know!

On Tuesday Philips released the much-anticipated new version of ProntoEdit NG for the Pronto TSU3000 remote control, upgrading it from version 1.1 to version 1.2. Major new features or fixes include:

  • Capability to make use of all four hard buttons below the screen.
  • Ability to move system items (such as battery level, clock, etc) to new locations.
  • It's now possible to merge two PCF files together.

  • Quicker loading, saving and emulating.
  • Improved CCF to PCF conversion.

I have also noticed further fixes in v1.2 that were not mentioned in the official “What’s New” notice, specifically:

  • The “Setup” page is now available as a “Special Action”.
  • Device pages now show a more accurate version of the “System page” while editing.

  • Ability to hide individual device pages.
  • Emulator screenshots are now saved in the correct 16 colors to the “C:\Pronto2GScreenShots” directory.
  • Pasted buttons now go to the same coordinates as the original source button (identical to button groups).
  • Improved performance when moving multiple groups of buttons at once.
  • Deleting a group of buttons no longer copies it to the clipboard.
  • Buttons can now hang off the edge of the screen.
  • Released state buttons no longer need to be the same size or larger than pressed buttons.
  • Buttons stored in the gallery can now be assigned a default action list.
  • Groups of buttons can now be easily duplicated by holding the CTRL key.
