The ultimate PDA [with remote control]?
Many of Sony’s recent Clié handheld computer models incorporate a built-in remote control function, but Sony’s really pushing the envelope with other bundled features with their latest model, the PEG-NZ90.

As what can only be described as the ultimate Palm-based PDA, the PEG-NZ90 not only includes a built-in home theater remote control, but also sports a 2-megapixel (1600x1200 resolution) color digital camera with flash, MP3 player with remote control, a complete QWERTY keyboard, built-in Bluetooth and optional 802.11b wireless networking.

Other features include a high-resolution 320x480 65,536 color TFT screen that flips and rotates, 200MHz ARM-compatible CPU, 16mb ROM, 16mb RAM, Memory Stick slot, voice recorder, A/V output jacks on the docking cradle and a Lithium Ion battery. Dimensions are approximately 3” wide by 5.6” high by 0.9” thick.

So what does all of this cost? About $800, plus $150 for the 802.11b network card. Availability is mid-February. The only drawback (so far) is that Sony’s remote control application has not yet progressed to the level of other popular touchscreen models.
