Site improvements: I've been busy this weekend completing several much-needed site improvements that I hope will make Remote Central easier to use for everyone.

First, the thread paging design used by the message forums has been improved. Instead of the old (and somewhat intimidating) [Previous 6,523] links, each forum now uses a true paging system. A total of 5 pages are shown per screen, with the >> and << links skipping to the next or previous group of five. In testing, this is much easier to use and will allow you to view more messages faster.

Several changes have been made to the forum search program, including the addition of the new paging system for viewing results. Two new searching options allow you to search only for threads that have been updated after a certain amount of time, or to ensure that all matches contain every word entered. Although the "any word" system is quite good at sorting the best matches to the top of the list, the "all words" technique will help keep the total number of results down when you're certain those words must be present. Although both of these features produce only minor search time improvements, I am working to increase overall speed.

The Pronto system CCF file area has grown quite large recently. Due to the old paging design it was starting to become ungainly to use. A new system similar to that used in the message forums has been implemented which fits better on-screen and allows for future expansion. Also, if you haven't already, check out the new originals section which includes uniquely designed Pronto interfaces. In addition, the component CCF area has been redesigned to work better with brands that have very large numbers of files for particular components. All improvements maintain the same design appearance and operational functionality.
