Weaknesses: I was unable to get this remote to learn any keys from either my TV remote nor my (older) yamaha audio receiver. Review: I bought this remote to consolidate remotes, and to be able to learn remote keys for my yahama audio receiver. I was unable to get it to learn any commands, as such, I am returning the remote for a refund. As another poster noted, the "help" line is just a recording, with a maze of options and with no one on the other end that can actually help you. Quality: Features: Value:

It had no support for the samsung SIR-S4040R, which I understand is a very common Directv/Tivo unit sold by the big box stores. Review: I was very excited to find this value priced remote that seemed to support everything I needed. It was quite quick and easy to set up my DVD player, VCR, Receiver, CD Player, and TV. However, when I got to setting up our Samsung Directv/Tivo unit, I was stymied. It didn't support samsung units. I tried using code search, as well as learning, but the learning only supports 8 keys, so you can't even get all the numbers supported. Well, I figured I'd call the helpline listed on the back. USELESS. It was nothing but a voice recording system that covered a small amount of devices (not even SAT, or Audio) and there was no way to get live help. It's going back to the store tomorrow. Note: No attempt to use installation instructions for SAT-CBL or AUX/AUX2 Weaknesses: Though application to/for DVD's is listed on RCU807’s packaging no codes provided or programmable for DVD Player/Recorders such as Sony's RDR GX7. The learns commands from original remotes is only applicable, based on this author’s, if one is able to first set the basic functions of the original remote. Review: The intent of the purchase was to eliminate the multiple remotes in entertainment area. The incomplete information or inability to address the growing category of DVD Player/Recorders severely limits the RCU807 ability to fulfill its intended mission (promise) of reducing the number of controllers from 5-8 to 1 as stated on the RCU807’s packaging.
