Excellent replacement for OEM RCA remote.
Not for those w/o an RCA Sat./Cable box.
If you have an RCA Sat./Cable box and want only one remote for your home theatre, buy it ! For $35 bucks (available everywhere), this baby is a great value ! Virtually all buttons are in the same location as the OEM and are setup perfectly out of the box. This makes no-look operation and navigation a snap. Learning is a breeze and lots of memory is available. I have a JVC TV, A/V Receiver, VCR, DVD/CD, and an RCA Sat. box. It controls them all almost perfectly. The only imperfection is the fact that controlling the 5.1 speakers is not easy due to the fact that this remote uses a two button combo. to control each speaker level while the OEM uses a separate button for each speakers + and -. Not a big deal since these are normally not adjusted after initial setup although I did program a couple buttons for the subwoofer since I do adjust it occasionaly (e.g. CD audio is different than DVD audio). P.S. CNET's negative comments regarding this remote are mostly negated if you have an RCA box.
