Strengths:Ease of programming and navigation
Weaknesses:None at this point
Review:I have used RTI, Philips Pronto,Universal, and now the Harmony remotes. Without a doubt, this is the most easy to program, and use full function IR based remote control system of the bunch. It is a custom installer's dream. You have to give one a test run. At $200 prior to programming it is a huge bargain. Updates and remedies are a snap. This is a must have for anyone with more than two pieces of equipment in their a/v array!

Review 25 made on Saturday April 17, 2004 at 4:19 PM.
Strengths:ease of setup
Weaknesses:Still to be determined. On my first one, the glow button quit working. Harmony support had me upgrade the firmware, but that didn't help. Now I am trying to get the second one to work and the remote glows on and off without touching it. And I can't get the connection to work. Can't get my settings for the first remote to transfer to the second. At $200, I am beginning to get pissed off.
Review:I have to say I am not a happy camper. The manufacturing quality seems week, unless I am an unlucky person. I am waiting on a response from support to solve my current problems. If this would have worked as advertised, I would be happy, but I have had problems unrelated to setup, which went well. At this point I have invested too much time and am about ready to punt. To be continued...

Strengths:Easy to program general operations for your equipment. If all you need to turn your equipment on and preset the inputs, it's will works great.
Weaknesses:No ability to create macro commands, hence it's not possible to automate long repetitive tasks. I think it's just unacceptable.

No way to order custom (soft) buttons.

Web interface is slow and very clumsy. To change one simple thing you'll be plowing through pages and pages of the setup wizard. Why they didn't create a standalone program is beyong me, because all you need to do with the Internet is to download description files for your equipment - after that everything can be done locally and much faster.

The whole thing doesn't feel like a $200 remote.

Their warranty policy is made to screw up the consumer. Losing receipt (proof of purchase? the broken remote itself is not good enough proof?) would mean you've lost the warranty.
Review:Not a bad remote, but definitely not worth the money they are asking for it. It's really strange that they have designed such complex product but missed of relatively simple features.

Review 23 made on Saturday April 3, 2004 at 11:45 PM.
Strengths:Setup was mostly seamless
Weaknesses:Some buttons hard to hit, keys slightly small (but packing 51 buttons into a remote this small I can forgive that). A few advanced options not avaliable through the website.
Review:Overall I am very impressed with this remote just a few minor annoyances. It was easy to setup and configre but it doesnt have AccessDTV so I had to make my own device for that. Also one thing I didnt like was the fact that you can't arrange commands on some screens and cant edit/change/delete learned commands (once its sent to the database thats it) so I will have to have my updated AccessDTV codes will have to be emailed in (the support staff can change but the feature isnt accessable to users). All these minor qualms are easily outweighed by the coolness of this remote and ease of use.

The activities work flawless and the remote is very reliable to do what I want. MUCH better than my old Pronto 1000.

Review 22 made on Monday March 29, 2004 at 8:56 PM.
Strengths:Very easy setup right out of the package. Instructions are simple and straight to the point. The software is a small install. The remote itself fits very nicely in the palm of your hand and the screen is very easy to read - especially when the "glow" is on.
Weaknesses:You have to get the model numbers of all your devices before setup can be completed. They have to be entered into a configuration control panel via the internet. This was a pain for me. I have a very large (and heavy!) entertainment center. I had to pull it out to get 3 of the 6 model numbers I needed to get the remote setup.
Review:Overall, I love this remote. I paid about $109 from Overstock.com for it and it has been worth every penny. I had 6 different remotes - 2 of them were "universal" remotes. This remote is truly universal. I was looking specifically for a universal that also controlled TiVo - this one does it very well! Now I can sit there and control everything with 1 simple remote. Awesome.

Review 21 made on Thursday March 25, 2004 at 10:17 PM.
Strengths:Easy to program. Remembering toggle states is a plus. Support is good.
Weaknesses:I can't read the screen. Lettering is too small and the back light is poor. I use the play-pause-ff buttons a lot (TIVO) and they are at the bottom which is an inconvenient location.
Review:Because I can't read the screen, I bought and now use an MX-700 which I recommend.

Strengths:Tech support was very helpful. Web site seemed to work well. Only one issue with turning my Integra receiver off.
Weaknesses:None yet
Review:I bought this for my wife who was always calling me at work about not being able to get some piece of equipment to work. Normally, just one of the controllers mot set to right input. I even made a list of things to check, but she was not happy having to read a list. This remote has solved all of my/her problems. I am totally happy with this remote, but have not tried or reseached others. Paid $128 delieved to my home through NE, works for me!
