Strengths:Web-based, completely customizable, the best customer support ever (thanks Omar). This remote takes the wife out of the wife-factor equation.
Weaknesses:Buttons are a little small.
Needs back lighting, but button layout is good enough not to notice but it would be nice.
Review:By far the best remote I have ever owned, and I have had quite a few. The activity based design works exactly as advertised. The web setup is fantastic, and the company is constantly upgrading it. This remote is worth every penny. My wife says she likes it, which is the true test of any remote.

Strengths:Ease of use. Best support I've come across....period!
Weaknesses:I would like to see a complete manual with the remote (although it is available online).
Review:This remote is actually FUN to own! It is well designed, feels good in your hand and the buttons are well placed. It takes a while, initially, to set up your homepage with your settings but the web site is very user friendly. If you have problems, the Harmony Support Team is absolutely outstanding in helping you. When I've been stuck about doing something, they have changed it for me on their end and also sent step by step instructions on how to do it myself. I can't say enough about their support (even e mailed me on a Sunday)!
The price is high (for me) for a remote but this product is worth every penny! If you're balking at the price, my advice is grit your teeth and click BUY, you won't be sorry!

Strengths:The ability to control all of my AV devices, and switch between them with a single button press. Before this I was the only person that was able to understand how my system works, now anybody can operate my AV system.
Weaknesses:Transport buttons a little bit small for "fat" fingers, but you get used to it.
Review:By choosing "activities" like watch TIVO, play a DVD, listen to CD, it becomes a no brainer to operate my system with this remote. With one click, watch TIVO will turn on my TV, turn on the TIVO, turn on my Receiver, set the receiver to the appropiate input, set my surrond mode, set my TV's input, then control the TIVO.

If I want to switch to watching a DVD, the remote automacilly will switch the TV input, turn on the DVD player, switch the receiver input, switch the surrond mode if necessary, and control the DVD player.

Basic setup was easy, and more complex operations were accomplished whth a little help by the outstanding support of Harmony's support group and members of this forum. I can't say enough about how good the support has been!

Strengths:Innovative way to program the remote-- via your own customizable website.
Easy-to-use combo of buttons and LCD screen with jog dial.
Very helpful customer service.
Highly customizable, easy to learn from other remotes and easy to edit remote layouts.
Ideal for that wife or parent that hates remote controls, yet can be configured for the advanced technophile.
Weaknesses:Remote codes database doesn't contain many models that are a few years old.
Requires lots of menu navigation from the LCD screen.
Automatically imports lots of general remote commands that may not work on specified model.
Very smartly designed and ergonomic, yet I find it a little tedious and uncomfortable.
It's a great remote for people who hate complicated electronics, with one exception-- if some of your devices lack discrete (separate) on and off commands, the remotes macros will turn things off when you want them on, and on when you want, and your spouse won't like that!
Review:My strengths and weaknesses were pretty detailed, so I'll just add a few more comments. The remote is excellent and should win awards for design and innovation, but I think for someone like me, who likes his Tivo, who likes to use advanced Picture-in-picture, etc, who has some high-end electronics that are a few years old, well the menu system becomes too tedious. For example if you use a directv with tivo, you'll find yourself flipping from screen to screen just to navigate menus or enter channel numbers. I felt I needed to post a contrary review after buying the product based on all these glowing reviews. It appears that my never-ending quest for the perfect remote control continues.

Review:The Harmony Remote is a fantastic addition to my home entertainment system. With numerous mix and match components all with there own remotes my coffee table was looking like a electronics junk yard. The Harmony got rid of all the clutter. Installation and customization was as easy as its everyday use.

The remote looks cool, is easy to use and the chicks dig it.

Strengths:Easy to use. FANTASTIC web site to program remote. SUPERB customer service. Ultimate Flexiblitly. Less buttons that do more! Logical to use.
Weaknesses:Haven't found one yet.
Review:This is my first programable remote after looking at all of my friends I decided on the Harmony. I needed something to power my new Plasma with DVD/VCR/Surround/TiVo/CD and the wife was very, very clear that there was to be only ONE REMOTE and that she was not going back to get her PhD to run it. Harmony fits the bill, simple to use, with unlimited flexibility.

Best of all is their customer support group. As you program through their website, in a case where I was stuck, I sent off an email, and the customer service group made changes on my website, I downloaded the fix through the USB port, and the fix works perfectly.

Their is a HELP button that actually helps, and works ahead of you, re-sending any commands that don't need an answer to their simple yes/no questions and has always corrected the problem without any difficulties.

Ergonomics are excellent and thisthing just rocks. Buy one.

Strengths:EASY TO USE!!! house guests can use without "training"

Web based- easy to update when I get new equipment

EXCELLENT customer service!!!!

good ergonomic design and good lookin', too
Weaknesses:No support for MAC OS 10.2.4
Review:I love my Harmony Remote. I got the SST 745 a year ago and upgraded to the SST 768 as soon as it came out.

Not only does it work as easily as they say it should, their customer service is OUTSTANDING!!!! When I upgraded from the SST 745 to the SST 768, they were kind enough to load my preferences into the unit they sent out so that I wouldn't have to find a friend with a PC to upgrade. (see below about MAC support).

I got my upgrade rebate in a timely fashion. They've answered their support phones on Saturdays, which are not their regular business hours and I don't expect them to answer. When I've emailed (after getting an immediate autorespond), I've gotten an answer written by a real person who has read my specific problem and has a specific answer.

And I love their Canadian accents I get to hear when I call on the phone.

I like it SOOO much, I use it even tho' I have a MACINTOSH computer running OS 10.2.4, which isn't compatible with the internet update software they have. I have to go down to a local vendor or friend's house with a PC to do any updates. Even with that downside, it is still the best for controlling every piece of entertainment gear I have, including video games, digital cable set top box, and phonograph.

The fact that it is web based update-able makes it practically NON-obsolete-able, if you get my drift. My one recommendation is that you get the new SST 768 as opposed to the older SST 745. The new design is 1000% better and seems to be more battery efficient.

The best thing about it, is that once I got the Harmony Remote programmed, anybody could use my entertainment center without me having to "train" some one in the group- I'm talking house guests or my 16 yr old daughter's friends when she's hanging out in the living room.

Thank you
