Strengths:it lives on the ipaq which is an amazing little PDA.
Weaknesses:the ipaq's IR, lack of customization options, almost useless website.
Review:this should not have been released yet, it's an alpha stage piece of software at best. my very first test was to program it for my sony stand alone tivo. i selected PVR->Sony and went through all 10 selections. nothing. oh well, i ended up using the learning feature, which was excellent - and even created my own little Tivo button in photoshop. the 3x5 grid is constricting to say the least and the idea of paging in between screens is a big pain.

this should not have come out with total customization and the ability to post and share files with embedded graphics.

the worst news is that i noticed that from directly in front of the Tivo/TV the remote worked fine, but about 12 degrees to the left (my couch) it didn't work at all. all my other remotes worked from my couch. so sitting on my couch i had to fully extend my right arm and angle the ipaq in to get a more acute angle before it would work. that's what blew it for me.

I bought this largely for the remote features but also to be able to surf the web wirlelessly from my couch (that part works fine). however, for 650 bucks it needed to be a lot better - and unfortunately, while the software has the chance to improve after a few revisions, the IR problem will be for ever present.

i'm looking forward to the next version of the ipaq with better IR implementation and at least the beta version of the nevo software.

finally, the number of xtra graphics available for download on the nevo site is apalling. it must have taken somebody about 45 minutes to do all those. there's no excuse for not having thousands of buttons in the style of everyone's favorite remotes.

Review 2 made on Saturday August 24, 2002 at 11:08 AM.
Strengths:Virtually unlimited number of screens and macros. Very easy to configure and works very well.
Weaknesses:Need more favorite buttons. Would be nice if they had images of all channels available on Direct TV.
Review:Out of the box, it had every Sony component I own built in. However, I had to experiment with various components to find the one that had most my features (i.e. Sony 1, 2, 3, 4). Would be great if you could enter Manufacture and model number. You can easily add additional feature buttons, but it would be nice to have all buttons preconfigured.

Review 1 made on Monday August 5, 2002 at 4:09 PM.
Strengths:Best looking LCD Screen on any handheld I have ever seen.
Tons of uses other than a remote.
Beautiful physical design and fairly tough.
Light weight and small.
Battery Life is Good.
Surprisingly I have had no system crashes.
Recharges fast and syncs fast with USB
Fun To Own
Weaknesses:Expensive
Ir Range was only about 35 Ft on my Test with a Sony TV.
Nevo Software is very Limited, I wish the review had also looked at "TV Remote 5.0" using CCF files.
Review:While I agree with most of the review I found that my range was not 25ft but about 35ft, I don't know if it's because I am using the Model 3975. Also the Ipaq has other home theater uses such as a excellent multi source TV guide.
