Review 1 made on Monday February 4, 2002 at 10:33 AM. Strengths: Working activity based remote. Small size and easy control. TV listings. Weaknesses: Have to connect to the internet for any and all programming. Limited buttons and customizing. Scroll wheel malfuctions. Review: The remote work well enough with a few annoying problems. When you want to watch TV or your DVD player etc select the activity and the remote configures you system and controls for the activity. The setup is easy enough but as the main review states everything has to be done from the internet. If you want to for example use your old remote to teach a button on the harmony a function it can not be done. The equipment list on thier web site is not complete so I have to select some devices which are close but not a exact match. If you want to live on the wild side and try advanced configuration which is done but "XML" you are on your own with no support or documentation. I wanted for example to go into my TV menu and change its mode to widescreen. After I entered about ten commands I ran into a limit and could not do what I wanted. The customer support people were not able to help. Even the TV listing which is a feature have to be download into the Harmory remote twice a week. Buy this remote be sure you have a good fast interent connection. They tell you it is a feature not to have hard buttons. Some feature it makes the remote simpler but if you want to do something you have to go to a command screen to the TV, DVD, Receiver etc.. and select one command at a time. The first thing I noticed is when I used the wheel to scroll down is what I thought was a natural way the selected test moved up. The customer support people had the nerve to tell me people get used to it. I am not 100% happy with the remote it works but until I can at least get the watch DVD activity to work well?
