Weaknesses:Don’t like that it has only one aux. I wish you could change all those audio buttons to two other TV’s etc.
Review:Overall I really like this remote. So far I didn’t run into any problems like one of the other guys did when he dropped it. Just a question. Who uses that pen that comes with it? I see no use for that. For 99.00 bucks it’s a great deal.

Review:I bought two of these remotes when they first came out, one or myself and the other was for my brother-in-law. Well in the few months that we have owned them the lcd screen has shattered on both of them. Mine was from a two - three inch drop onto my coffee table, His was from a two foot drop onto a carpeted floor. I e-mailed RCA telling them about the problem, and all I could get was an automated response explaining that they were not reponsible for neglect of the item. I hardly think that a remote control should be this flimsy. My Handspring Visor has survived much worse than this remote did. I would not recommend anyone buying this remote control.

Strengths:Inexpensive, straight forward controls, macro capabilities.
Weaknesses:Finiky at learning from other remotes...refuses Yamaha, Philips and Samsung DVD player remote inputs for learning. LCD 'buttons' are a bit small to press with fingers, however they provide a stylus to press them.
Review:Overall, this is a decent remote. If you're looking for a touch screen remote, but are unwilling to spend excessive funds on one, this is a great buy. For people with moderate needs when it comes to a remote control, this is excellent. If you are looking for something that is more customizable and flexible, the Philips Pronto is probably where you should head -- just beware of the price on that remote (2.5 times more $$).

For the price ($99 dollars), this is perhaps the most capable remote you can purchase dollar-for-dollar. So long as your expectations are in line with what the remote offers, I'd recommend it.

Strengths:Bright legible screen
Weaknesses:Would not accept Harmon Kardon receiver in learn mode.
Slow button response
Inflexible labeling options
Review:Searching for a versatile remote with macro and learning functions and combination of touch screen and real buttons, I thought this would be a perfect choice. I picked it up at the local Best Buy for $99

The learn mode is fairly straight forward, although after an hour of trying to get it to accept my HK receiver codes I gave up. You can use the preprogrammed HK code however the labels did not match up to the corresponding function and given the inflexibilty of the labeling function, this could not be fixed.

Finally, a long delay was noted between pressing the channel advance and the emission of the IR. There would be no way to "surf" channels with this remote.

Overall, disappointing. Will be opting for the MX-500 next.
