Strengths:Once youve mastered the programming, you can perform multible funtions with a single strock. No longer do I have to press power on three remotes just to watch the news. Also, the ability to download images to the remote, makes it not only look amazing, but practical. ESPN is no longer channel 586. It is just the logo. The remote does the rest.
Weaknesses:Learning the language can take some time and may not be for everyone. The remote is pricey, so I only recommend it to those who have the time and ability to maxime its stengths. Using a screen instead of buttons can take some getting use to.
Review:At one time I had over six remotes to control my Entertainment System. People were scared to touch any of it (which was an advantege at times). But this remote was the true perfect addition to a system that I was already proud of. The Pronto gives me the ability to customize everything. While at the same time downloading graphics and icons makes it look sleak and user-friendly.

Review 2 made on Tuesday December 12, 2000 at 5:06 PM.
Strengths:All in one capability
Weaknesses:SIZE!!! This thing is a big, slippery brick! The manual sucks, and the price is outrageous!
Review:I've owned this thing for about a month and I find it cumbersome, hard to program, generally overated and overpriced. If I didn't have a techy friend to help me I'd be lost, the manual isn't very helpful, and the glossary stinks. Ever tried working this thing with one hand? It's a remote control, not a play station controller, I've already dropped it and I'm sure I will again. When I hold this thing in one hand and my Palmpilot Vx in the other, I just get real confused about technology.

Review 1 made on Wednesday November 29, 2000 at 9:55 PM.
Strengths:Flexibility, memory capacity
Weaknesses:Speed, ProntoEdit 2.0 that came with it appears to have restrictions over PE 1.05. Database of codes is extensive but still not complete.
Review:I have had the TSU2000 about 4 days and it is my first experience with a programmable controller. I LIKE IT..Once you figure it out and the software that comes with it, (and find Remote Central and all it's resources) it programs smoothly. 3 days of extensive programming haven't made much of a dent in the alkaline batteries. I expect good life from them.

With the mix of Sony and Pioneer I have, to make it convenient to manage something like the Pronto is a must.
