Strengths:Nice size, lightweight, seems to learn everything very easily.
Weaknesses:Wish it could send discrete power commands for other components when tied to the component select buttons.
Review:I am using this with this Equipment:

Denon main amp
Sony DVP-7000 DVD
Mitsubishi S-VHS VCR
Echostar (Dish) Satelite
Runco projection system (TV)

So far everything seems to work nearly flawlessly, I am replacing a Niles Intellicontrol system that came with my system. Yes, I know the Niles is very expensive and very programmable, however I cannot get the PC interface from Niles and dealers want to much for it.. so.. if anyone's interested in it drop me an email.

Strengths:Inexpensive in comparision with Pronto. The SONY brand name. Strong IR beam.
Weaknesses:Can't control my Philips TV 60PP9352's PIP functions. It seems that the Philips OEM remote sends different signals, so pressing the "PIP position" once, works. But the second time it doesn't.
Review:I was until recently a loyal Sony fan. I've jumped ships and shouldn't have returned for this purchase.
Let's face it, the reason one buys a remote with a touch screen is for customizability. This remote has predefined buttons on a touch screen. It has no space savings. So my question is: why not buy a remote that has hard buttons that you can feel around in the dark for?
I am sadly disappointed with this product. If I attept another remote, it must be customizable.

Sony, these are hard buttons, the just feel like a touch screen!

Strengths:Saves having half a dozen remotes on the coffee table.
Weaknesses:Backlight doesn't come on automatically. Certainly not comfortable to use one-handed. Keypad keys can only display preset words. Silver paint scratches too easily.
Review:I really love my unit. It could be prettier and smaller but I still love it.

Strengths:My TV has a bunch of sound controls (types of sound a button to adjust the equal.), numerous PinP functions. When I bought it it was easy to program teach it new buttons that were not programmed. The light is nice, not to bright.
Weaknesses:Sonys' customer service is horrible. Im to the point where I rather buy a worse product with a company that takes care of its customers.
I lost the manual when we had to evacuate my grandparents home and I just bought a new satalitte reciever and I cant get ANY help from sony.
Review:Overall its easy to use, great learning function.

I have no problems with the product itself. In fact the only problem I have had is with the customer support. I was gonna buy a new sony surround sound system but because of the worst support I have recieved (its neck and neck with microsofts support a couple years ago, and the qwest phone customer service) and I am sorry that I spent the money with a company that doesnt care about its customers.

Strengths:Great remote, flexible learning, lasts for ever on batteries.
Weaknesses:9 or so commands in a macro string maximum. Not very much if you own a projector etc... Unable to name buttons.
Review:Works good for lights(X-10)fan if you don't mind using the mini-dics button to do so. Try explaining to your wife the VCR B button controls the fan, mini-disc is the lights..... One thing I do have to say is the battery usage is unbeleiveable. Two years on the same Duracell's.
