I'm pleased to report that I've finally caught up with all file area submissions - so if you've sent in a remote control-related file in the past while, it's now online and available for download.

In addition, there are two new sub-sections in the Other Files area, for device IR code sheets and device RS-232 protocol sheets. These are meant to collect and archive original IR & RS-232 command lists as supplied by the manufacturer, which can then be used (sometimes after a bit of decoding) with any remote control system. If the demand for this section grows, they will be given their own separate file area.

The most recent file submissions have all been placed online over the past few days. I've also updated my system layouts for the Philips ProntoPro NG TSU7000 and the Universal Remote Control Inc. MX-800 with all changes that have occured to my components since my last upload a year ago.

You can now find a wider range of files to download on Remote Central, including support for the Philips Pronto Professional TSU9400, UEI Nevo Q50 and Nevo S70, URC Complete Control MX-810 and MX-980, RTI T2-C, T3 and more! Read more...

I'm very pleased to announce that all file submissions that had been waiting to go live, have finally been entered into the database and are now available for download! Adding new files tends to be rather labor intensive operation, and is something that I tend to put off while working on other things. Unfortunately, this had allowed submissions to build up to rather substantial numbers, and it’s taken quite some time to get them all online. In total I count 370 new entries, so visit the file area, download and enjoy!

Our Toronto & Buffalo Area HDTV Channel Map has been updated with the latest changes, including new off-air HDTV channels CHCH and CIII.

I’m pleased today to introduce a new enhancement to our forum system – private messaging! This user-to-user in-house mail option will be accessible from a new “RC Mail” link in the main forum toolbar at the top of all forum screens. To send a private message you can either type in the member’s name from RC Mail home page, or look for the “send private message” link on user profile pages. Read more...
